Description:
Molecular Sieve Type 3A is an advanced form of alkali-metallic, silicon-aluminum compound, adept at absorbing molecules with a critical diameter of less than 3 Angstroms.

Application:

1. Ideal for dehydration in gas streams of unsaturated hydrocarbons such as ethylene, propylene, butadiene, and acetylene within olefin crackers before cryogenic LPG separation or other olefin products.

Regeneration:
The molecular sieve can be revitalized by heating in thermal swing processes or by pressure reduction in pressure swing processes.
To effectively remove moisture, the molecular sieve requires heating to 250-300°C. A well-regenerated sieve delivers moisture dew points as low as -100°C, with mercaptan or CO₂ concentrations below 2 ppmv.
The outlet concentrations in a pressure swing process vary based on the gas and process conditions.
